About HKIE President’s Protégé Scheme
The President’s Apprentices Scheme was first launched in session 2009-2010 by the incumbent President Ir Dr Andrew CHAN. One year later in session 2010-2011, it was renamed as the “President’s Protégés Scheme”. The Protégés are a group of young engineers, who are selected by the Presidents to shadow his work during his term of office. As the President’s Protégés, they have the privilege to gain insight into the workings of the HKIE by observing how senior figures in the industry operate in important events or meetings, which in turn broaden their exposure outside working environment and in public affairs arena.
